New York Enforces Recycling Law

As of January 1, 2015, all residences are required to recycle electronic equipment, separated from other household wastes and recyclables. The Electronic Reuse and Recycle Law, first enacted in 2010, included a phased approach to implementation, first requiring businesses to recycle electronics, and now applying to residential waste. Recycling electronic waste protects human health and the environment by preventing toxins such as lead, mercury and cadmium from contaminating the air water and soil.

At Cardinal Disposal, we have accepted electronics for recycling for quite some time, with a drop-off site here at 635 Shannon Corners Road, Dundee.

Electronics such as personal computers, laptops, televisions, printers, DVD players, cell phone and video game systems are all accepted.  Please call if you have questions about what kinds of electronics we may accept.
